Governor Baker and Lieutenant Governor Polito are declaring October 22 - 26, 2018, "STEM Week" in the Commonwealth. The Baker-Polito Administration is focusing on promoting STEM education because studies have shown that over the next 10 years, U.S. industries will need one million more STEM graduates than our nation's education system will generate.
During STEM Week, Burlington High School is hosting a Career Day for students, scheduled for October 25th. This event is part of BHS’s Career Exploration Program, which is designed to help students make informed decisions about their future paths. Through collaboration with community members and organizations, the Career Exploration Program connects students’ current learning with potential occupations, highlighting the skills they need to find success.
Speakers on career day can choose to stay for one session or for both, sessions start at 9:15 A.M and run through 10:45 A.M. We are encouraging parents from all fields to participate. We would also like to expand the number of speakers representing STEM fields and are asking parents to participate as speakers or to recruit colleagues/companies. Our goal is to find 10 companies and 25 STEM speakers.
Whether you choose to participate or make a referral, we appreciate any effort on behalf of our students. Also, for more information on our career exploration efforts at BHS please visit our website and for more information on the Commonwealth's STEM week, visit their website.
