In addition to our evening conferences, Burlington Police Resource Officer Keith Shepard will be presenting, ‘Vaping, What You Need to Know’. You are strongly encouraged to attend.
Also, please mark your calendar for the annual BHS fall play, which will be “ Harvey”, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Mary Chase where Elwood P. Dowd is the perfect gentleman, his only flaw being that his best friend is a pooka; a six-foot-tall, invisible rabbit named Harvey. When Elwood begins introducing Harvey around town, his sister, Veta Louise and her daughter Myrtle Mae are embarrassed. They become determined to commit Elwood to a sanitarium. In error, it is Veta who is committed rather than Elwood after she confesses that, on occasion, she has seen the rabbit herself. Eventually, the mistake is realized and a frantic search begins for Elwood and his friend. Elwood eventually agrees to undergo treatment to satisfy his sister, but in the end, Veta realizes that she loves her brother just as he is and accepts Harvey as a member of the household, understanding that she doesn’t want either of them to change.
The performance dates are December 14th at 7:30 p.m. and December 15th at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at http://burlingtontickets.tix.com
