We hope that you all got outside today and got to enjoy some of the warm weather. It was a welcome change from yesterday. After a variety of conference calls today with state officials and colleagues from around the state, we feel comfort in knowing that many other districts have taken a similar approach to week one of school closure.
Having said this, we feel that we are on the right track with our focus this week in putting the social emotional needs of our school community first. This will continue to be the case as long as we are physically separated. We will also make every effort to ensure that we are encouraging activities that will bring joy and reduce stress. We think that whatever joy and fun we can add will be a great relief in these unparalleled circumstances.
We continue to work on a plan for what this new routine for students (and teachers) will look like in the upcoming weeks and we look forward to sharing this with you early next week. In the meantime, we want to thank you for all of the supportive messages and kind comments regarding the efforts of our phenomenal staff.
