During the course of my summer reading, I kept running across the importance of gratitude for both individuals and for communities. The first book was Shawn Achor's The Happiness Advantage and the second book was Brené Brown's Dare to Lead.
Achor talked about the Tetris Effect that we can get caught in when we are overwhelmed my negativity. He explains that it can work the same with positive thoughts like gratitude.
"When our brains get stuck in a pattern that focuses on stress, negativity, and failure, we set ourselves up to fail. This principle teaches us how to retrain our brains to spot patterns of possibility, so we can see—and seize—opportunity wherever we look."
With this in mind and knowing all of the positive things happening in our schools and classrooms, we decided to provide a place where people can share their gratitude for these positive occurrences. Check out our Gratitude Daily podcast here and if you have gratitude to show, please drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
