Dec. 2nd  - 6th - Book Fair

Here at Memorial School, we take celebrating our Veteran’s and servicemen

and servicewomen very seriously. Honoring those who have supported and

sacrificed so much for our individual and collective freedom is important. Our children

need to know and understand their own civic duty as well as those who serve in the military.  All of our students write thank you cards that are distributed by the Burlington Veteran’s service organization to military branches across the country and abroad. Each year we are honored to have two Burlington veterans, Christopher Hanafin and Jennifer Goldsmith join our whole school assembly, as well as other local veteran’s in town. I hope you all take a few minutes to make a veterans’ day special , not only on November 11th but everyday of the year.  A smile, a note of gratitude, a donation to a cause can make a difference to the lives of those who are preserving our freedoms.

Here are ways PHP can help make a difference:

The Food Pantry provides eligible families with food all year round. Families are welcome to come in weekly to pick up fresh food, shelf-stable pantry items, and basic personal hygiene items. No appointment needed! Our pantry is set up as client-choice, where clients choose their own foods from the shelves. Please call the pantry at 781-270-6625 to schedule a time to register.

This is a fund intended to meet the temporary, emergency financial needs of individuals and families who are in crisis, including utility shut offs, lack of fuel, partial rent payments, fire victims and the like. This fund is administered by Burlington Youth and Family Services, whose staff screens applicants regarding their situation. Please call 781-270-1961 for more details or to schedule an appointment.

The Holiday Program helps eligible families during the holiday season. We distribute Thanksgiving dinners to families and elders. In December, we provide gifts of clothing and toys to children, and gift cards to elders. Please call 781-270-6625 for more details.. Financial aid is available for eligible families to help off-set the cost of summer camp. This program is administered by Burlington Youth and Family Services. Please call 781-270-1961 for more details or to schedule an appointment.

The PHP Lunch Program for Kids provides free, healthy food to eligible school age children during school breaks. Each week, families pick up packages with the foods and recipes necessary to prepare 5 lunches and snacks for each child. Please call 781-270-6625 for more details.
