MSMS Robotics Team- Going to the States!

We want to give a huge shout out to the Space Potatoes who will be competing at the First Lego League State Championship Saturday, December 15, 2018.   We are extremely proud of your hard work and effort and know that you will demonstrate PRIDE on Saturday! GOOD LUCK, SPACE POTATOES!

MSMS Toy Drive to Support Burlington Fire Department Toy Drive

Student’s in Ms. Mulcahy’s class, room B-11, are supporting the Burlington Fire Department and their annual TOY DRIVE this Holiday Season! Each year, the fire department collects new, unused, and unwrapped toys to donate to inpatients at the Boston Children's Hospital ranging from newborns to 18 years of age. This year, we are hoping the staff and students at MSMS can show our PRIDE and support our community by giving back!

The toy drive will be running from now until December 20th (Thursday before winter break). No gift is too small! If you would like to participate, please bring in a toy (new, used, and unwrapped!) and drop it off to room B-11 (near the art rooms) or in the boxes near the front lobby.

News from the MSMS PTO

Meeting, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 7:00 pm

Please join us at the next MSMS PTO meeting this Thursday.  We will meet at 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons.

Amazon Smile

You can now support the MSMS PTO when you make purchases on Amazon!  Please follow this link and every time you shop on Amazon, MSMS PTO and our students will benefit.

Textile Bins

You may have seen the white textile boxes located at each of the schools in Burlington.  These boxes are part of the Bay State Textiles program that focuses on spreading awareness and seeks to educate the public about the problem of unwanted textiles. There is no cost to the program and Bay State Textiles handles all of the logistics.  When you drop your unwanted textiles in any of the boxes (MSMS’s box is down the hill by the football field), that school receives a financial donation from the company. A list of textiles that will be accepted can be found here baystatetextiles.com.  Please make MSMS your destination for donating unwanted textiles!

After School Activities Pick-up - Third Bus Added!

It is exciting to see so many students participate in after school activities at MSMS!  There are now three late busses on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The addition and re-alignment of the stops will allow students to get home more quickly.  Please review the new late bus routes with your child.  The buses leave MSMS at approximately 3:15pm and, depending on how many students are riding, can take up to an hour to complete their routes.  If you are picking up your child, please do not enter the front bus loop until after the late busses leave at 3:15 pm. Peach Orchard Road should be used for pick-up before 3:15pm.

Absences and Requesting Work

Just a reminder to families to call the MSMS Absent Line (781-270-1781 ext.1) any time your student will be absent or late for school.  Please call this line even if you have informed your child’s teacher of their absence, as sometimes the message does not get to the main office.

There are times when a family will make the decision to take a family vacation during regularly scheduled school days. Just a friendly reminder that teachers are not required to furnish assignments in advance for students planning to go on vacation, overstaying a vacation, or leaving prior to dismissal for holidays. Upon their return to school, students are responsible for making up the work that they miss and it should be made up in the same number of days the student is absent.  If your teacher does provide work before the absence, it is expected that work be returned upon your child’s return to school.

Drinks in School

We encourage students to stay hydrated by carrying water bottles with them throughout the day.  Other drinks, including iced coffee and energy drinks, are not permitted in school and students will not be allowed to bring them into classrooms. Thank you for your support and assistance.
