Summer Reading

Marshall Simonds Middle School wants you to have a wonderful summer filled with sun, fun, and reading!  Research shows that participating in summer reading boosts academic achievement and prevents a summer slump. Please click on the link below to learn more about the summer reading program for your child!  If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s ELA teacher.

Students entering grade 9 at Burlington High School

Burlington High School has updated its summer reading program for the 2019-2020 school year. Each student will be assigned a book (based on their top three picks from the provided list) and be placed in a group with other students and faculty members who also read that book. At the beginning of the school year, groups will meet to have a discussion on their book.

News from the School Nurse, Mrs. McGillivary

The nicer weather is here and the seasonal allergy and asthma issues are in full force.

To enable the Nurse’s office to properly service your children, please make sure we have your child’s appropriate medications available. If your child has a Respiratory Action Plan completed by you and physician, we have must have their original medication container with the prescription label indicating the child’s name, prescription number, date filled, physician’s name, medication name, and directions for use. All medications must be up-to-date (Not Expired).

Please note, the BPS Nurse’s offices do not have seasonal allergy medications in stock, therefore, it is imperative for those students that require these medications that they be administered at home.

Your child’s health and safety is always our priority.
