Thanksgiving Holiday Break
As we approach the Thanksgiving break, We wanted to take a moment to wish all members of the Marshall Simonds Middle School community a happy holiday! We hope that you are all able to enjoy a restful weekend with family and friends. Students will be dismissed at 10:15 am on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 for the Thanksgiving break.
Grade 8 Assembly
On Wednesday, November 21, 2018, our 8th grade students will participate in the traditional Thanksgiving Assembly. Each of the three teams will compete in a series of games that will require students to work together. We are looking forward to a show of MSMS P.R.I.D.E. as we enter into the Thanksgiving Break!
Congratulations to the MSMS Robotics Team!
On Saturday, November 17th MSMS Robotics Team competed in theFirst Lego League Robotics Competition. We are still waiting for the official results, but every member of the team should be extremely proud of their hard work! So much MSMS PRIDE!
Thank you for continuing to follow the established drop-off procedures in the mornings. On mornings with inclement weather, we do see an increase in volume and your help is required to keep traffic from backing up onto Peach Orchard Road. Please make sure that you are pulling all the way forward in the loop before dropping off your child. Students should not arrive to school before 7:15 am, as there is no guarantee that adequate supervision will be in place. Students who arrive past 7:35 am, will be marked tardy and should be dropped off at the main entrance. In order to get to school on time and reduce the morning traffic volume, students are encouraged to ride their assigned bus, rain or shine.
After School Activities Pick-up
It is exciting to see so many students participate in after school activities at MSMS! Just a reminder that there are late busses available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The buses leave MSMS at approximately 3:15pm and, depending on how many students are riding, can take up to an hour to complete their routes. If you are picking up your child, please do not enter the front bus loop until after the late busses leave at 3:15 pm. Peach Orchard Road should be used for pick-up before 3:15pm.
The Marshall Simonds Middle School Parent Teacher Organization is an incredible resource that supports the students and teachers of MSMS! The MSMS PTO relies solely on the donations of our families to support programming, including transportation for field trips, in-school performances, and funding for the end of the year activities for our 8th grade students. If you have not already made your tax-deductible donation, please visit the MSMS PTO Blog at https://msmsburlpto.wordpress.com/pto-donations/. Thank you for your continued support!
You can now support the MSMS PTO when you make purchases on Amazon! Please follow this link and every time you shop on Amazon, MSMS PTO and our students will benefit.
