In the last few weeks, every Burlington High School student had the opportunity to recite a poem in front of their English classmates. From each classroom, student winners were selected to move on to the next round of the Poetry Out Loud competition. Last week, the 13th Annual Poetry Out Loud Finals were held in the Fogelberg Auditorium at BHS. Caitlin Shea (senior) won the title of Poet Laureate for the 2018-2019 school year, finishing ahead of Ashwini Shinde (senior) and junior Luis Villalta (junior) who finished second and third. The other finalists in this year's competition were Mikaila Gnerre (junior), Jessica Goober (senior), Ananya Gurjar (senior), Aleena John (freshman), and Julia Papasodoro (junior).
