While over 22,000 students globally participated in this year's National Latin Exam, there were only 442 students who achieved a perfect score. Four of these perfect scores came from students at Marshall Simonds Middle School. Those four students (Matthew Shannon, Nathanael Chao, Julia Griffin, and Alexis Emerson) are pictured above with their Latin Teacher Mr. Walsh.
Despite its name the National Latin Exam actually has participants from Australia, Belize, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Jordan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, the Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe.
