As the calendar turns to April, so does our attention to the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS). MCAS is a state-wide assessment given to all public school students. This year, students in grade 3-4-5 will be taking the English Language Arts (ELA) sessions in the morning on April 9-10th. The Math sessions will take place on May 14-15th and the Science test for fifth graders will be on May 20-21.  Please make sure your child/children gets a good night’s sleep and healthy breakfast before coming to school each and every day so they are ready to learn! If you need assistance, please contact me at ddressler@bpsk12.org so we can support you.

Incoming Kindergarten Parents

We will be having a story time in our library on Tuesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 25th from 1:15 to 1:45 for all incoming kindergarten students.

All Kindergarten students are screened prior to the start of school to assess readiness skills. The screening will take place on May 29th, 30th and 31st. If you did not sign up for a time during registration, please call 781-270-1721 ext. 0 to make an appointment.

On Wednesday, June 5th you and your incoming kindergarten child (no siblings please) are invited to Kindergarten Open House. This will be an opportunity for you and your child to become familiar with the Kindergarten environment and meet the entire staff. At this time, placement has not yet begun so students will visit a classroom or two just to become comfortable with kindergarten rooms.

Do you have clothing, shoes, stuffed animals, leather bags, or linens you are looking to get rid of? Drop everything off in the textile recycling bin at the rear of the teacher's parking lot of Memorial School!! It brings in money for the PTO. As you know, this helps with field trips, playground equipment and more.
